Weather Channel Uses Mixed Reality to Demonstrate the Weather Conditions

 

The Future Group, the leading augmented reality content and technology provider, will deliver custom immersive mixed-reality experiences for viewers, using The Future Group’s Frontier powered by Unreal Engine. Unreal Engine offers a complete suite of creation tools designed to meet ambitious artistic visions, particularly in the video game industry with games like Fortnite and hyper-reality experiences like Star Wars™: Secrets of the Empire, using the platform.

Since launching award-winning live augmented reality experiences in 2015, The Weather Channel has created an amazing amount of content that allows the network to tell weather stories, explain the atmospheric sciences and help convey important safety and warning messages to viewers. By harnessing the power of advanced, real-time graphics renderings and visual effects with Frontier powered by Unreal Engine, The Weather Channel is further pushing the limits of broadcast presentations for real-time immersive storytelling. Viewers will see towns and local street corners recreated in astonishing detail; meteorologically accurate tornadoes, hurricanes and the devastating effects of storm surge. They will look just as real as the images and video you see in the movies.

Prvi Hyper-Reality hakaton na svetu sa nagradnim fondom od 3.500 funti

Četvrtog vikenda u martu, u saradnji sa Britanskim savetom i Bristol VR labom, po prvi put na svetu organizovaće se Hyper Reality hakaton sa ciljem da vidimo koliko je stvarna virtuelna realnost i istražimo razlike između stvarnosti, virtuelne i hiper-realnosti. Želimo da proširimo mogućnosti VR okruženja, percepcije “virtuelnog” pojedinca i iskustvene alate u hiperrealnosti.

Hakaton će trajati 48 sati i osam timova će imati priliku da stvori najkreativnije rešenje i osvoji ukupni nagradni fond u vrednosti od 3.500 funti. Osim novčanih vaučera, svi učesnici imaće jedinstvenu priliku da upoznaju sjajne kreativce koji rade u VR industriji, ne samo Srbije već i Britanije i celog sveta.

Prijave su otvorene kako za pojedince, tako i za timove, i to putem sledeće forme, a otvorene su do 16. marta. Za 20. mart planirana je pripremna radionica, na kojoj će se učesnici upoznati među sobom, sklopiti timovi, upoznati se sa dostupnom tehnikom i svim upustvima u vezi sa predstojećim takmičenjem.

Rok za prijavljivanje je petak, 16. mart do 23:59h. Po zatvaranju prijava, svi učesnici će putem mejla biti obavešteni o narednim koracima.

Sam hakaton će trajati od 23. do 25. marta.

Yes​ ​definitely,​ ​because​ ​of​ ​that​ ​experience​ ​I​ ​wanted​ ​to​ ​create​ ​a​ ​VR​ ​project​ ​called​ ​Giant​ ​where​ ​I wanted​ ​to​ ​share​ ​my​ ​experience​ ​through​ ​a​ ​narrative​ ​fictional​ ​story.​ ​What​ ​mattered​ ​was​ ​to transfer​ ​the​ ​emotion​ ​and​ ​realism​ ​of​ ​what​ ​people​ ​are​ ​going​ ​through​ ​in​ ​conflict​ ​zones.​ ​I​ ​wanted​ ​to share​ ​that​ ​primarily​ ​with​ ​a​ ​Western​ ​audience​ ​who​ ​have​ ​never​ ​been​ ​in​ ​such​ ​situations,​ ​so​ ​that they​ ​can​ ​broaden​ ​their​ ​understanding​ ​through​ ​being​ ​immersed​ ​in​ ​the​ ​story.​ ​The​ ​family​ ​in​ ​Giant is​ ​Western,​ ​too,​ ​so​ ​the​ ​audience​ ​can​ ​relate​ ​more.
